Does the act of observation create reality? My work seeks to explore this enquiry through looking at and comparing systems. I aim to understand them as inter-connected parts of individual experience and collective consciousness. Rather than being compartmentalised, isolated or frozen in time and space, I find systems of entanglement and connection together in constant change both symbiotic and in conflict, observing the illusory and temporary nature of perception.

Often the materials and objects I use will be reminiscent of the body as I focus on the human participation within these systems as observer and agent. I also consider materials provided externally such as light, gravity and wind.

I am most influenced by Post-Modernist and the Young British Artist movements but I take inspiration often from the worlds of science, psychology, philosophy, technology and literature. Modelling my own process on the idea of a non-hierarchical learning system.
Playing with visual language and symbolism I employ 3D, photography and video to experiment with materiality and process, transforming everyday household objects and materials to reveal hidden worlds.
